This tutorial outlines the generic encoding workflow using YMPEG.

Following are simple steps to encode from your application using YMPEG.

  1. Complete your editing.
  2. From you video editing application, select YMPEG as your video compressor. Configure YMPEG and select final output file name. Since MPEG has different format than AVI, the final MPEG file need to be specified in YMPEG configuration.
  3. Select YMPEG as your audio compressor. Choose appropriate sampling rate.
  4. Start compression. Usually, your video editing application will prompt you to name output AVI file. The filename you enter here will not be usable. Actual output file will be the one which you have configured in YMPEG Configuration dialog.

We have also provided tutorials for using YMPEG with VirtualDub, Adobe Premiere Pro, and SwishMax. We suggest you to look at these tutorials even if you are using some other applications as most applications will have moreover same kind of interface.
