This tutorial explains how to use YMPEG with SwishMax to directly export your flash animation as MPEG-1/MPEG-2/VCD/DVD etc.

  1. Complete your editing.
  2. Go to SwishMax export panel. Select "AVI (Video)" from export options.

  3. Click on "Setup Compression..." button. This will launch new dialog box to setup compressor for AVI export.

  4. Select YMPEG as Compressor and click "Configure..." button to configure YMPEG. This will launch YMPEG configuration dialog.

  5. Configure YMPEG. Ensure to select Frame Rate to match with SwishMax movie frame rate (configured in movie panel). Also select output file.

  6. Export to AVI. Output file will be generated with .mpv extension [Since SwishMax does not allow setting Audio Compressor, you will get .mpv instead of .mpg. However, you can use ExtractMux utility supplied with YMPEG to extract audio from AVI file and multiplex with .mpv file to generate .mpg file].
